A Walk in the Park

We found a great park just across the street. It's also located along the river. We took Barklee over there and threw her ball. It was the happiest she had been all week! Today we decided to walk there, it was just a short 10 - 15 minute walk. We did, however, have to pass the homeless man again. We returned unscathed.

Barklee had a great time again, but she was a little distracted by the frolfers. :) The park is set up with an 18-hole frolf course across the grassy areas. (For those unfamiliar, "frolf" is a combination of frisbee and golf. Instead of a golf ball, you throw a frisbee at a pole that stands about 4 feet off the ground.) I also tossed Barklee's ball into a little stream. She wasn't too excited about that, but she went after it anyway. Then, on our way back home, we ran across a patch of grass where the sprinklers were on, and I persuaded Jason to walk/run through them with me. We returned to the apartment a little wet, but a lot cooler. It's currently 80 degrees here right now, and the sun has been down for about an hour.

Here are a few pictures of the park we took. Oh, the park is also a water treatment facility. It's pretty cool. They turned it into a park where they have fish in a few ponds, some cool water fountains, and a lot of ducks and geese (for some reason Barklee doesn't pay any attention to the brown ducks, but she doesn't like the white ones). They also have learning programs for kids to participate in during the summer. It's pretty cool.
