Well I'm writing you today from the road. We spent yesterday morning with my family. We ate breakfast at IHOP (and Charmaine, don't worry, I didn't enjoy it. ;) ). Then after what Jason calls a "tearful goodbye" with Anglela, Jeremy, and Ashley in front of the IHOP, the rest of us headed to my parents house to finish a couple minor things. We had another "tearful goodbye" with the rest of the family and then we hit the road.
After a few hours of Jason drivng, we switched off and I took a turn. While driving, I noticed a couple of semi truck drivers flashing their headlights at us. We couldn't see anything wrong, so we kept driving. The next time we stopped for gas, we noticed that one of the straps on the dolly towing my car had come lose! That's basically what holds your car on there, so it was something major that needed to be fixed before we did anymore driving. It took at least half an hour to get the strap lose and redone, so we lost a lot of time, and we didn't quite make Denver last night before we had to stop. We stayed in a hotel in Fort Collins, CO, and now we're back on the road.
We've been driving for a few hours now, and about 10 minutes back, we hit the Wyoming-Kansas boarder. Only about 300 more miles to go! Woo hoo!
So far we've gone through a tunnel, seen a lot of trains, driven across 4 states, accidentally missed a toll-booth in Colorado, changed time zones, and ran over many tumble weeds. What an adventure.
Good-bye for now!
Finished!
