Last night Jason and I drove back from Missouri. We spent the weekend with his family. His mom and grandma LOVE playing dominoes. And they're very good at it. I must admit that I'd never played dominoes before I went out there (unless you count setting them up and knocking them over). But I've learned to really like playing. We play a game with them called Mexican Train. It's difficult to explain in a blog, but it's really fun to play. In fact, Jason and I bought a pack of dominoes so we could improve our skills, and try to beat his family. I thought we were getting good, but when we played this weekend, Jason and I were the biggest losers. He came in last place, and I was close behind him. Oh well, guess we'll just need to practice a little more.
Whenever we go out to Missouri, his family always makes a lot of good food - I don't know if they eat like that all the time, they can't, because I'm convinced that if they did, they'd all weight about 200 pounds more. I think we've had ribs every time we've been out there, for Christmas, for July 4th, for Labor Day ... they are a family that likes ribs!
We also watched a few movies together. Jason brought his DVD of "Cloverfield" which we watched with his parents. Then we went to see "The House Bunny" with his brother Patrick. And then the two of us watched "National Treasure 2" together.
Then while we were driving home, I noticed in the sky, there were clouds blowing that belonged to the front wave of Hurricane Gustav. This afternoon and evening, the storm is going to reach Wichita, and it's supposed to rain, but nothing more than that. I'm excited because it hasn't rained here for a few weeks. Wait ... in fact, it just started raining right now! Woo hoo!
Finished!
