A view from the street. This was taken about 3 weeks before we moved in. The lawn and flower beds all look much better since we've worked on them! Oh, and please disregard the smudges on the glass. They're doggie nose prints on the inside of the window. Yes, I took this from inside the car. :)

When you walk in, it opens up to the living room.
The living room leads to the back door/deck and also to the open dining room.
Another view from the living room ... so you get the whole panoramic effect. The kitchen is in the corner, behind that middle wall, and then the front door is on the right of the picture. LOVE the high ceilings!!
Here's a close-up shot of the fireplace in the living room.
When you walk in the front door, if you turn to your right, you'll see the kitchen in all it's glory. It's a fairly large kitchen. It has a separate eating area which you can't see in this shot. The door that's open leads to the garage.
Another picture of the kitchen. There are two closets on the left side of the picture. I wanted a REAL pantry in the kitchen, and now I've got one! We use the second closet as a utility closet for the garbage, dog food, miscellaneous tools and flashlights, etc.
Here's a picture of the eating area in the kitchen. They just put down brand new tile in the kitchen and dining room.
Another shot of the dining room. You might not be able to tell from the angle of this shot, but that's a bay window back there.
Here's a view of the stairs leading to the basement. Not crazy about the wood railing, but that's one of those little things we're already planning on changing.
The stairs lead down to the very large family room in the basement. There's a little alcove which we're going to turn into a wet bar. We're going to put in a mini fridge, a microwave, and a pop corn popper that we got from our wedding registry. (Thanks Aunt Julie!) Those two doors lead to the laundry room and the 4th bedroom.
Another view of the family room. It also has a fireplace that matches the one upstairs in the living room. Both fireplaces are REAL WOOD BURNING fireplaces. Not those lame gas ones.
Here's a full picture of the fireplace in the basement.
The full bathroom in the basement. They put down the strangest tile pattern here. You can't see the back corner, but trust me, it's weird. They used 4 different colors of tile, and didn't even make any sort of pattern out of it! It looks like they started off with the rows of tile (which are visible in the picture) then just gave up half-way through. So, we're going to rip up all the tile in there and lay it down the right way.

Jason posing in the main bathroom upstairs. Pay no attention to his long scraggly hair!

Close up of the tile in the main bathroom.

Master bedroom ... it's such a big room! It's hard to get it all in the picture.

Another shot shot of the master bedroom. You can see the door to the master bath off to the left.

Looking at the door to the walk in closet and the master bath. The closet is so big! I think it's about the same size as the master bathroom.

Bedroom #2. The previous owners used this as their master bedroom. We don't really know why. It is slightly larger than the master, but it doesn't have the walk in closet or the master bathroom. The neighbors did tell us that the previous owners were a little strange. We believe them. One entire wall (which isn't in this picture) is just a huge closet! There's so much closet space in the house, we love it!

Barklee investigating bedroom #3. The carpet is my favorite part! :) Ha ha, yeah, if it's 1980! Another thing that we'll be changing soon.

Bedroom #4. Really, it looks small in the photo, but it's not. That door leads to the cloest. It's a smaller walk-in closet, but it'll do. This is going to be the guest bedroom. It also has a door which connects to the downstairs bathroom.

Here's the deck as soon as you walk out of the door from the living room. We've put up some hanging flower pots, a wind chime and a few deck chairs (for chillin' out max and relaxin' all cool).

The giant deck wraps around the back of the house. It's a little too big and arranged in an odd position, so we're going to take it down and rebuild it. It's going to have 2 levels and open up to the backyard ... instead of the garage door. Oh, and we're going to make it the right way so it doesn't sink into the ground, which it does right now.

Barklee sniffing around the backyard, and Norway is just about to come down the stairs. The flower beds and lawn look much better than when I took the pictures.
Another shot of the backyard before it was mowed. The lawn was about 12 inches long when we moved in! Me thinks someone didn't like mowing the lawn much.

Fun - having a house is fun! It's also lots of work, but I just let Ben do that stuff, and I pick colors for things. Tee-hee. J/K Ok, not really, but we aren't all as handy as you are around the house! Have fun. It's frustrating to not have everything like you want it to be, and not have the money to make it so. I guess it's one of those things that is a journey, not a destination.
