So Many Things!

Back home in Kansas, Jason and I got our keys to he house, we got all our stuff moved in, the dogs are adjusting well, we're both working different shifts now, we've picked out paint colors ... now we just need to start all the decorating and making the home ours! But I'm in Utah right now doing wedding planning things, we ordered the cake, the catering, ordered the bridesmaid dresses, fit Ashley for her flower girl dress, bought my cake topper, went to get my hair done as a test run for the wedding, did the flowers, assembled invitations, and I think I just found my photographer! Woo hoo!

I've been a horrible blogger lately, and I apologize. I've been so freaking busy, I haven't found any free time to blog. As I said, I'm in Utah right now. My family had a bridal shower for me tonight. We had so much fun! I have so many gifts to drive back home.

Speaking of which, I think Nebraska hates my iPhone. For about half of my drive through good ole Nebraska, I didn't have cell coverage. It's the first place I've ever noticed a huge dead zone. I wonder what people in Nebraska do without cell phones ... ???? I would die without mine!

On Monday, I went to lunch with my friend Nataley, and then we spent about 8 hours just hanging out together, running around town taking care of various errands. We went to David's Bridal so I could show her my dress. I love my dress!

On Tuesday, my mother, two sisters, my niece and I all went to David's Bridal so they could pick out their bridesmaid dresses. They both looked so cute! I'm so excited!

On Wenesday, my sister, Lisa, took the day off of work so we could do wedding things together. We went to Magnolia Grove, where we're having the ceremony and reception, and took care of the catering menu, and the cake. I'm glad that's all done with! We also worked on my flower arrangements. I'm using silk flowers instead of real ones. I don't really care about the flowers, so I figured it was a good way to cut costs somewhere. I figure it gives me license to splurge a little on something else that I actually care about. Plus, I'm having two receptions, so this way I get to use the same flowers in both places.

Then today, I met with another friend of mine, Becca. We went to Costa Vida (there's nothing like Costa Vida or Cafe Rio out in Kansas ... I'm thinking franchise opportunity!) and then we went to see Night at the Museum. We used to go to the movies together and eat Costa Vida at least once a week. I miss that. It was good to catch up with her. And I got to meet her boyfriend.

Then tonight was the family bridal shower. I just drove back from my sister's house and my entire trunk is full, I mean FULL of wedding gifts, and my back seat is packed too. I'm so excited to get it all into my new house. Is there a rule about not using wedding gifts until you're actually married?

Tomorrow I meet with our potential photographer. I've been ultra picky about which photographer to go with, since I enjoy photography myself. There's a certain style I want. I don't want all my wedding pictures to come out looking like portraits. I was a little disappointed that the photographer my sister used isn't doing wedding photos anymore. :( Sad times.

Saturday is the bridal shower with a handful of my friends. It's only going to be about 10 people, so I'm hoping I won't get too much more in the way of gifts, simply because I don't know how I'm going to get them home!

Then Sunday I hit the road again. Not excited for the 15 1/2 hour drive back home ... alone ... not even my dog with me. Oh well, hopefully it'll go by fast.

And that's been my week.

I'm so glad you got so much done! Sorry that I couldn't be there to help or see the things that you picked out. Now it will all be a wonderful surprise when I get there - this lovely wedding planned by my cute sister. Way to go!
